Choosing the right workstation configuration for your Sydney office can save you thousands and maximise your floor space. Here is a practical guide to help you decide.
Single Seat vs Cluster Workstations
Single-seat desks offer maximum flexibility - staff can be repositioned easily and the layout can evolve with your business. Cluster workstations (2, 4, or 6 seat) are more space-efficient and create a natural team environment.
Measuring Your Space
Before ordering, measure your office carefully. Allow at least 1.5 metres of circulation space behind each workstation. A standard 6-seat pod typically measures around 3.6m x 3.6m - make sure you account for this in your floor plan.
Panel Heights
Low panels (600-750mm above the desk surface) allow natural light to flow through the office and encourage collaboration. High panels (1200mm+) provide more privacy and reduce noise. Most Sydney offices now prefer low panels for the open, modern feel.
Cable Management
Good workstations have integrated cable management - trays, ports, and raceways built into the frame. This keeps desks tidy and reduces trip hazards. All of our Flow and Runway workstations include cable management as standard.
Electric Sit-Stand Options
Sit-stand desks have become very popular in Sydney offices. They reduce sedentary time and are increasingly expected by employees. Our VertiLift range offers single-motor and dual-motor options to suit different budgets.
